Putting a definition to the term leadership has posed a challenge to academics, theorists and practitioners alike in the modern era. Arguably, there are as many definitions as there are people who use the term! When we use the term, we know what we mean by it and assume others know what we mean by it too, which may be what led Bennis and Nanus to compare leadership to the Abominable Snowman!
